Thread: getting my website to show up on google

I just published my new website and want it to show up on google, as well as other search engines such as Yahoo. The link to the website is http://www.allaboutbabyaz.com

Even when I type that into google, nothing shows up. I've read it helps to put your links places. I guess I have to find other places to put it. Any suggestions?

It does show up, but only if you type it in the address bar (replacing the "google.com" with your site). That's normal. It won't show up in google's search fields--even the "I'm feeling lucky" one for quite some time. Mine took almost two weeks to arrive; I was told it could take as long as a couple of months. In the meantime, if you go to your site as explained above and add it to your "favorites" list, you will always be able to go there instantly.

Others may be along to explain how to use keywords...there's a tutorial on that to view as well.

I like your site, Tom.....I was an AWANA leader for many years myself, then I went off to Trinity College and morphed into some eRetailer that rarely emerges from in front of triple monitors....
Why was that worth mentioniong? Dunno.....must be very late indeed!

googles webmaster tools
they are really good for you to see what your website is doing!

I do not trust Google anything ........

But then again, I do not have the pocket change to purchase the new breed of Urchin, should anything happen to the AWStats that was a critical feature I considered in each account when I first chose VH....

I also do not trust Google.

Have you put in a support ticket to have your site added to all the major SE's as part of a one off that is part your VH account.???

YES!!

The SE's will pick up your website.....unfortunately that is an unknown amount of time.
I have had them find one in less than a week and then some in a month or so.
