Thread: Verification problem

I verified my site at www.classic-bike-imports.com with Google in May and my Google reports page tells me it's receiving data but I'm also told that the site is unverified and I need to verify it. Therefore I assume the code has been lost.corrupted etc somehow.

Google gives me a choice of inserting a meta tag or inserting some HTML code into (I think?) my home/index page, but the problem is that I don't remember where to put it and don't understand the Google instructions........ can someone help me out here please?

Did mine yesterday!
Open BV, then a new blank page. 'Save as' and give it the name google gave you. The page will be on line and then you go back there (google webmaster) and 'verify' it. Done!

My apologies to the mods for my double post. I posted once and then got a gateway timeout so thought it hadn't worked so posted again......... oops!

No problem.......I only posted to let other users know that the question had been answered.

You are going to:
1) open a blank page
2)save it
when BV 'ask for save as'..... you type the code google gave you.
3)publish it

Then you will have on line: www.yoursite.com/numbergooglegaveyou.html
