Thread: Inserting Google Analytics code into site

I see the closed sticky thread on this subject states that one should insert the the relevant html into the end of body tag, but google says that it should go immediately before the body tag. How to do in BV please.

I have the same question please.
When I followed the instructions, google didn't seem to be able to track anything and it was only when I added the code into "inside body tag" (I tried every other and no use) that google started tracking.
However, by doing that, a friend informed me that he could see this code above my banner.

I couldn't see it but I could see a small space above my banner and the symbol... >

Please help to clarify this.

It didn't for me.
I waited for a week and google hadn't caught it. As soon as I added it into "inside body tag", the very next time it was located by google.
