Hi there, I have just finished my first website and now I'm trying to make a sitemap for it. I have used www.xml-sitemaps.com and downloaded the uncompressed version. When I open the file though, I notice that only 5 out of approx. 150 pages are being picked up by the crawler thing. If you go to http://www.staywithstyle.net you will see my indexpage. Only the five links on top of the page are being picked up. What could I have done wrong with the other links for them not to show up on the sitemap? I hope anyone can help me, because I'm a bit lost..... Kind regards, Esther

Some of them last week, but some of them 3 months ago. I guess about 50/50.... I'm starting to wonder if the drop down menu's could be the problem, because the crawlers only find the links that are not in a menu.... This afternoon I spent some time making a sitemap page in BV. I read on one of the other posts that that could help. On this sitemap page I have put links to all the URL's of my website. 'The list is far from complete, but I think I'm starting to figure out how it works. I will finish the list tomorrow and then I'll know for sure. Then I made a link to the sitemap page on my indexpage. It's not quite clear to me if this is all I need to do, except from uploading the sitemap (once I have a complete one) to my public html folder. Do I understand it right if I say that the crawlers will find my indexpage (which they do), then they will see the link to the sitemap page and on that page they will see all the other links to my different pages? Hope you can clarify it for me....

Well....it took a while, but as far as I can see I have managed to create a sitemap. Is it possible for anyone to check if I have done it correctly? Kind regards, Esther

You have correctly made a sitemap, but on the home page you linked to sitemap.html instead of sitemap.xml

Hi Esther, You can build a sitemap using BV10 tools. Click here for thread by General VH. I just found that the file names must be small-letters.html. For me it would not include pages of which file names started with a Capital letter. That was in BV10.0 anyway. Have not checked in BV10.1 yet.
