and how long that would take? because i did the same as show on tutorial and nothing is coming out..when i put my domain name and press star crawler..i don't see a waiting time frame............Thank you...

Did you enter your URL in the top window...then click "Start Crawler" ??
I just made on for a small site that has 10 pages and it took less than 30 seconds.
The sitemap generator will not be able to see javascript menus or pages that have uppercase letters.

Ok you say the sitemap generator will not be able to see javascript menus or pages that have uppercase letters. it that included my index page with all uppercase letter on that page? and my URL is my domain name right?

He means uppercase letters in the names of the pages.
For example: mydomain.com/ThisPageName.html

I have done site maps ok for other sites using the BV tool but having problems with www.jacklovelock.com I have no upper case pages but do not get results.

I enter the url in the Website URL box, click on Start Crawler and get nothing listed.

Any ideas out there?

Hmmmm, that is odd indeed. Must be a setting or something in my BlueVoda. If you can get it why cant I. And why can I get it for other sites. Ah...could be the ftp publish setting..will check.

Nope. I just checked publish setting - which shouldnt matter anyway and it is set to the lovelock folder on server.

Argh - Sitemap doesnt work now for any sites. Firewall? Will check, reboot and try again.

Any ideas? Thanks

I don't think that it has to do with ftp settings as I could make a sitemap from my computer for your website. Did you enter the full URL ?

I closed BV, rebooted PC and would you believe it the sitemap worked. Odd.

I followed the instructions as in tutorial and nothing. I do not have any uppercase in my pages. Have patience please - I'm an oap! Thanks.

What exactly does that mean, please? Where?
In page properties I have named my first page - index.bvp - and other pages in this way, all lower case.
In my navigation bar I have named my first page www.waterlandspark.com/index.html
and the following pages with the same names as in page properties, again all in lower case.
I have underscored where I need to place two words in naming.
To start the crawler I put http://www.waterlandspark.com in the box at the top.
When I type in my site in 'bbc.co.uk' search engine, it says something about 'cgi-bin/' and then some other gobbledegook about 'voda28.com port'. - so I think I have published correctly (and I only published my index page as in tutorial).
So what am I doing wrong, please?

I cannot find your site. All I get is the "Index of" page. Have you pointed your domain name to your name servers?
When using the Sitemap tool, fill in the "Website URL" and then click "Start Crawler". There is nothing else you should do except wait for the information to appear.
Be aware that your sitemap will only have one link to display as you have only published one page.
The search result fromm the bbc.co.uk is telling you that your site is not working correctly as I have already said.

This is the current info on whois.net (2 days old)
Name Server: NS11.BRAVEHOST.COM
Name Server: NS12.BRAVEHOST.COM
You will have to point your domain name to the VodaHost servers listed in your "Welcome" email.

Did that yesterday, but I will go back to Bravenet and check it again, just to be sure. Does it take some time to be re-directed as it's new?

Checked and it is redirected to ns1.voda28.com

It should happen fairly quickly. You said that you have published an "index " page?
Give it 24 hrs.
