Default Website not showing on google

I can search durlandgolf.com, durland golf, mark durland golf and my website does not come up. It was showing well into September and then disappeared. This happened once before and someone told me to wait and it did eventually come back. I have waited 4 months now and it's still not showing.

If someone can look at my website or search google for it and give me some insight I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mark

Part of it is your sitemap prioritys are all set at the same level .05... Other than that .. You dont really have much on your page or much content on your page. Your menu is javascripted so google cant find you that way either. Most of the text links pointing to your site are not actual links but mention your website in blogs or forums.. so about the only real active link you have is here.

Add content with links to your inner pages, might consider also a text link footer, and reformatting your sitemap with the different pages at different priorities.

Are you using webmaster tools in google? that might give you some better insite as to why its not indexing you

Thank guys!

As you have figured out I'm a golf professional and know little about building websites let alone SEO.

A couple questions:
  1. reformatting your sitemap with the different pages at different priorities. Dont' know how....
  2. Add content with links to your inner pages. Not sure what that means....
  3. might consider also a text link footer. Not sure what that means or how to do it....
  4. Your menu is javascripted?????? Not sure what that means....
I do use google webmaster tools and analytics.....when I submit my sitemap I get the following error:

Unsupported file format
Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit

I don't expect you guys to walk me thru this but if you can point me in the right direction to get some help I'd appreciate it.

Mark

Text links are just that. for instance you might say Home Page, hilight it, right click.. hyperlink or hilight it and click the hyperlink button in the bv menu bar, the chain link, and then link it to a page of your site. If you have a page named schools youd talk about your school or lessons and lesson plans and make the keywords a link to that page.

A text link footer would be a menu that is all text.. you can do those in bv too .. text menu navigation.

You need to make a new site map and publish it to your site.

Javascript is what you navigation menu is now.. the SE cant read it.

Karen,

Thank you for your help. This is a busy time of year for me so I haven't had a chance to update my site.

I plan on putting a text link footer on each page....does BV have this feature or do you create it manually? Also, how do you know what page should be at what priority?

I'll make these changes and see what happens. Thanks again for your help.

Mark

BV has a text menu feature yes.. you can use that if you like and size the fonts down small. Or you can hand code it. Whichever you prefer.
