Large drop in hits from 08 - 09

While looking over my stats I see I took a very very large drop in my hits this past July. Just wondering if this is across the board or if something is up with my site.

Use some website tools to help you out. Maybe that will tell you some.

Thanks. I just added my url and it really only gave me estimated page rank. I am at a 4 now but don't want it to drop.

I am wondering...

My index page does not get changed a lot except for updated images of new products. Will that cause any problems?

Also when reviewing awstats ~ in July 2008 my site was crawled by twice as many search engines as July 2009.

Do I need to resubmit my site yearly to search engines yearly?

NO.. you dont NEED to submit. However, if this is an ecommerce .. the general trend is down as consumers are pocketing their money and buying closer to home.

Thanks Karen,

I know business is down all over and was not sure if the hits coincided with that. It seems in 2008 I had so many more search engines crawling my site and got a little spooked with the drastic change in numbers.
