    Default Font in Photoshop

    Hey guys,

Whenever I add font to something in Photoshop, it looks really hmm.. how to put this.. Distorted? pixelated? So I put the anti-aliasing on smooth and it then looked really blurry. Its really bothering me, makes anything I create in Photoshop look ****. I have emailed someone about it ages ago, but had no answer. Was wondering if anyone here knew?
Below is a pic of what I mean:

Have you tried creating it as a vector with anti alias checked? kern and leading on auto?

No I havent.. Karen, how would I do that?
When I was in college, my teacher told me some steps which sorted it out, but I cant for the life of me remember what she did and she is no longer at the college. I think it had something to do with the resolution, but doubt it is that.

    Thanks for the reply

    What kind of photoshop Teri?

    Are you using TT fonts?

Does your final product look like this after you have saved it? What format have you saved it in?

LadyEye, I use Photoshop 7.0. On the screen shot, it shows that I am using Century Gothic which is indeed a TT font and I ge the same result as the screen shot when I save the image as a .Jpg / .bmp

I had mine set to *****, although smooth didn't seem to make any difference???

I think it has to do when you save it as a .gif .. ??

That is totally different to what I get. I dont save stuff as .gif so cant be that. Maybe some settings have changed or something? I'll uninstall it and re install it tomorrow, see if that helps. Thanks for the help LadyEye :)

Well... I'm 11 but I'm a master at Photoshop CS2... Lol. Umm... If you have Imageready try that, but if you save it and try saving it again, you should only see 'Save As'. So click the 'Save As' tab and then you save it as a .Jpeg file. It will give you a message saying "You may only save a .Jpeg copy.". Click save and upload it onto an image hosting site, my reccomendation would be Photobucket or Imageshack. I hope this helps you out with your problem!

When working with fonts in photoshop you wil have to rasterize the fonts.

    Goto_Layer_Rasterize_Type

    Try it if it helps.
