Thread: "cartoon" images downloaded from net not *****

I've downloaded several cartoon-like images from microsoft clip art online and they are ***** until I load onto Blue Voda.

The images have remained the same size so I can't understand why they are appearing blurry and crackly in the preview browser and when I publish.

Please advise. Thanks!

Hi, what format are they in? Also when you placed them on the page did you resize with the blue tabs or change an image from another one?. The links that you gave at the bottom of the page are not showing the images except this one.http://www.carabellaskincare.com/index.html so we cant really see the problem.

I can see the images on all the pages Chris, except they are of poor quality

They are .wmf files and here is what I found out about those

The Windows Meta File (WMF) format is used specifically on the PC platform. WMF files can contain either pixel-based information or vector information in 16-bit RGB color space.
Meta files, as they are sometimes referred to, generally can not be placed into a page layout. The most common use of WMF files will be in low-end desktop printers, but never in a commercial (high-end print) workflow.
The reasons for not using these files in a high-end workflow are numerous:

• No support for color separations
• Limitation of 16-bit color

thank you. so does this mean i have to find different images for my website? any suggestions on where i can find similar 'cartoon-like' images that will work in BV? thanks.

perhaps you can try to save them in jpg or gif?

thanks, liz. i just decided to different images downloaded from another site (that i've had to pay for). although i liked the 'cartoon' characters, i think the real images makes it look more professional.
