Thread: Choosing the Right Web Site Colors

I recently had the opportunity to see my work in progress, www.gpteas.com on several different computers. I was shocked to see that the lovely green background I see on my PC is showing up in various shades of gray on others.

Is green a particularly hard color to get to look right on the majority of screens? On some of the screens I viewed, it was dreadfully dull. I don't have so many pages published that I can't change it. This will be a large site and if I need to make a change, I'd rather do it now.

If anyone cares to respond, what are you seeing?
I love rich colors and don't particularly want to use white or cream, but any advice would be appreciated.

Then, remember - some people change how their computer sees things - but it will help to use one of these.

As for your question on other PC view?

You can never, never have every computer viewing your pages the same as how you view them in your own pc.

Each and every computer is optimized differently.
But you can be assured that most current buyers for home PC will go for a multimedia optimized configuration so their kids can play the latest computer games and watch movies.

This means that a lot of viewers will be viewing your pages as you view them.

What is more important is how to get your pages to be found by the surfers? This is another area which you should focus on.
