Thread: images question

HI everyone,

Just like Darrell Jacobi, my images dont show up on all computers, but its even weirder:
with Firefox, all my images show on all the pages;
with Explorer, "some" images show and others dont, on the same page !
This is true on my computer as well as on others.

Does anyone have any idea where the problem is ?

Hi, i am getting the same thing in IE, but not Firefox. I beleve it to do with the way your images are named. Try naming with English type face & proper spacing of words. IE NOT.

Thanks for the tips. I checked and my screen is set to 1064 X 768 pixels.

As for the image names, I did not name them like that. I dont know if the complicated name is given by BV or if it is normal when viewing an image on the web. Either way, how can I modify this ? (The real names of the images on my site are already quite simple, and those that do not appear are no different to those that do).

What else can cause this discrepancy ?

I don't think that " Sa Majest%E9 Peinture sur soie 20,5 X 31,5 Affichage Web grand format.jpg " is simple naming- It might be humanly unserstandable, but not html friendly.

I suggest, as Chris already did, that you should rename your images (at least the ones you have problems with) on computer level, re-insert them in your BV pages and publish again.

My issue was my images showing up as "x". Chris had mentioned that I may have the "hotlink" enabled, which I did. When I disabled that, everything showed up again! I'm not sure why this happens just on some computers, but the person in Germany sent me an email saying that she can see my site now since I changed that.

I think I found the problem in my image naming: I had named them in french, with the accents, and Internet Explorer doesn't seem to like that.

I renamed the images that had an accent to eliminate it and it seems to work.

Maybe this information can help someone else who is working with a language containing special characters.

Hi Iccaqua... yes. it seems u have your problem mostly sorted. When I looked at your gallery this morning only 'The Cabin' was there - now all images are showing.
However, 'The Cabin' is extending to the right beyond your page. You would want to resize it or place it differently.
