    Default transparent background image

I am trying to get an image to have a transparent background. I am using Corel Draw 12. I can get this done in Corel Draw by cuting out the image from it's background & then exporting it as a .png with transparent background. After I export it, I can import it back into Corel & there is no background. When I try to import the image into Blue Voda it doesn't reconize it and is just a white square. I am looking for some advice on how to achieve this.

    Thank You

Hi, not to sure why? But somtimes some users seem to have problems with png. It wasn't recognized by BV about a year ago. But i think this was all sorted out. The other alternative is to convert to a giff 1st, then remove the bakground to make it transparent. It will quite often be less kbs than png if it converts ok.

what i do is magic wand the background from the image. copy it and paste to a transparent background. i have a transparent background that is 1000 x 1000 pixels. once it is pasted then i crop the image to size and save it as a png or a gif file. then import using the image import tool. if you need a transparent background that i have just let me know and i will send it to you.
i also cut out the image from the background, copy it then paste to trans. background. works just as well.

Don't know for sure about Corel 12, but Corel X3 works well. Convert your image to a bitmap, edit in Corel Photo-Paint using Cutout Lab. Cutout Lab can be found under "Image" on the menu bar. It takes awhile to learn, but it saves the image with a transparent background. Save your image, go back to CorelDraw and export as a tif.

BV does not recognize a .tif format. Its possible that the name of your first image was causing a problem. Use a name as short as possible. No spaces. No symbols. Save as a .gif or .png to preserve the transparent background.
