Thread: Gallery

Am I missing something: I cannot find a tutorial on the gallery function. I have been trying to use it but when I insert a number of images they show as thumbnails OK but when the thumnail is clicked in browser preview the full size image loads in the top left of the page and the thumnails vanish. What am I doing wrong, please.

My guess is images apear on left side of screen, because in image gallery properties you have selected "open in same browser window".

Regarding "Vanish" part, can you please explain better what you mean?
Vanish from your BV page? from preview?

Are you talking about the light box tool? If so wait for all the thumbs to load then click on one, if you click on one before they all load it breaks the coding. I looked at your site and all seem to work just fine.

Just noticed something...

In your fist page, pictures showing, one opens in image gallery, other one in lightbox.
Is that the way it was supposed to be?

By vanish I mean that all that shows on the page is the full sized image so I cannnot click another thumnail to load another full sized photo. I'll go and see if I was loading in "same browser window".

If you are using "open in same browser window", even in preview mode, you will have to hit the "back" button of your browser to view the other pictures again...

Try that and tell me if thats it.

If you are using the light box there is no option for the browser. As I said if you are talking about the light box on your home page you are clicking on a thumb before the images all load. If you are talking about another page, specify the page and we can go from there.

No, Ed am not using the lightbox. What I have done on my site is not relevant. I am working on an unpublished page to see if the Gallery feature can produce a pared down page for images. There must be no "moving parts" other than the images changing. I have read of using other JAlbum photo albums other than lightbox but I do not know how to do it. Help anyone! This album I created for my son showing the Argentina leg of his South American trip is perfect http://.proactivator.jalbum.net/Argentina and is absolutely what I want. Susana, I tried it every which way (open in same page,another page, new page, pop up and in firefox, ie and opera). They looked a bit different in the various browsers but the full sized image always made the thumbnails disappear, except the pop up option ( no option as far as my project is concerned). Does anyone know of an issue with the Gallery? I feel i must be doing something wrong, but there are not very many options to get wrong.

I use JAlbum in my site. When you create the album you publish to your site, when you click publish a dialog box will open and you add all the info for logging into your site just as you did to publish with Vodahost. To link it you type in the full URL of your site with the album name .html
