Thread: Too MAny Lightboxes on one page

HI,
Have started using light boxes on my site, it is a site for displaying pictures from my charity event. This means i have alot of pictures i want to display.
But i'm worried i'm making some pages to slow.So should i create more pages with less volume of pic's or not use light boxes so much.

I'm using a internet mobile stick for access is not great so not totally sure how my page views for people with a consistent connection.
I never realised how much there was to learn. wow

Hi, you should be looking at a page total of not much more than 300kb for a gallery & you might find this hard to achieve using the light box. I know using other methods with a bit extra work, you can have a page with 25 thumbnail images linking to pop ups or an iframe at well below the 300kb mark. Always worth a quick check on the Main menu>Tools>Page weight to see how the kb's are doing.

Whats the most efficient way to show pics , i just went on my music page and it was 450. Should i have multiple pages there then

Its a bit of a case of try & keep the page total down in size with the small images between 3 & 10kb if there is going to be a few of them (depending on size). Then linking to a larger image as suggested before.
The gallery will make a better job of it, in the if you check the generate thumbnail images it will automatically do this.
The only image on your music page that is large in kb's is
