Arrow Need HELP with Resizing 'stretched' images?

My main picture on each of my web pages has been stretched to fit an oval shape. It downloads very slowly, so I've used pix resizer on it, but I think it may not help since the picture is still being 'stretched' to fit an oval shape on the page. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to address this and still keep the photo in an oval shape?
    Thanks,
    Diane

Hi, if you mean this image http://www.noplacelikehomere.com/bv01061.gif in the oval shape? its not to bad at 75kb.
One thing that will slow the page down a bit, is the background image http://www.noplacelikehomere.com/Poppy2004_01.JPG at 458kb. This could e reduced a lot.

    Chris,
Thanks for your suggestions. Can you tell me how to reduce the size of the background picture so it loads faster, but still have it cover the entire page?

Hi, you can reduce it with pixresizer, remembering to reduce the physical size as well.
But you need to resize other images on the page as well. IE:…….
    http://www.noplacelikehomere.com/mon...CLIP%20ART.gif is 465kb & would be better around 4kb.
    http://www.noplacelikehomere.com/mon...CLIP%20ART.gif is 68kb & wants to be about 3kb
This is similar on most images.
On the main background! If you just want sky, you would be better using a sky background image like the attachments..
For resizing, have a look at the links below.

    Good luck.
