Default Re-organizing images in BV

I have used BV for the past two years on a real estate site with lots of pictures for each listing, and about 70 listings. For each listing I have a "photo gallery" page with 10-50 picts. I have been publishing all the pages and pictures to the public_html folder and now there are over 4000 files in this folder. I would like to know if there is any easy way to go back and reorganize the pictures into folders for each property with out having to relink and republish all the pages.

Is there any way for BV to publish just the images to a specific folder?

I am guessing that the best way is to ftp the images files into folders on the site and change all the links, which sounds pretty daunting.

Thanks in advance. Stephanie

What I do is I always have a different folder created for almost each gallery under a main directory.

It is simpler for me to use my FTP and delete all the images in a particular folder/gallery and republish then to reorganize in cPanel.

There is not an easy way. I'm building a site at the moment using tables for the layout & colours & html boxes with a little code for every image.

<img src="images full url.jpg" alt="A good alt description" border="0" style="width:120px;height:80px;">

Also saves a lot of work when swapping computers

Thanks for the replies. As I feared, quite a bit of work, but sounds like renaming and ftp is the way to go. Just pushes me faster to reorganize it all using Open Realty anyway. Best regards, Stephanie

One further note, it could work pretty well with the photo gallery functions and placing images if somehow BlueVoda could access the server files via ftp - perhaps something for someone working on the next BlueVoda version? Then you could upload the picts to the server then add them to the site pages...
