Thread: How do I get NONTILED image for background

Hi to all,
I'm trying to set an image as the background of my web page, but it apperars tiled, i.e multiple rows of the image - how to get it to be one big image as my background?

you will need to insert it as an image onto your page, as opposed to page background .. any image inserted as background will tile .. so inserting an image in that area is not advised .. your only possibility of doing this would be to use an image larger than anyones viewing ... this image would then need to be roughly 1400 or 1600 wide by 1800 or 2000 long .. so best, to insert your image as an image - but again, this depends on its size as well ..

your blue voda page width should be set at '1000 wide - at the widest - tick center in browser .. your background should be a solid color and will then therefore not tile, will fill in the sides when anyone views in any screen resolution ..

blue voda is a static webpage builder .. thus the reason for all of this ..

Hi LadyEye, thanks for that! is there a particular reason why I shouldn't have my page wider than 1000 - I actually have it set at 1200 - what sort of issues may arise because of this?

Only that viewers with less-than-widescreen monitors will have to scroll side to side to see all of your page. It's not good.
