I have linked pages of the form www.mysite.com/articles.html ok but can't seem to get it right for the form www.mysite.com/articles/article1.com You can check it on my site if you like (bear in mind it's still very much work in progress) www.myworldsouthamerica.com If you click on 'articles' at the top it works fine. Then click on the first article which I have named and saved as boliviaandtheroadofdeath and the link www.myworldsouthamerica.com/articles/boliviaandtheroadofdeath.com Where have I gone wrong as the link doesn't bring up the article Thanks |

Hi, I think your adding a bit too much. When you saved the page boliviaandtheroadofdeath.com I assume you saved & published it as just boliviaandtheroadofdeath with no .coms bits. If so your link to this page will be! www.myworldsouthamerica.com/boliviaandtheroadofdeath.html I noticed that you have the /articles/ in the middle of this?. Have you created a directory called articles in your c panel? To store pages into. If not! Don’t put the /articles/ bit in your links. Unless you want to separate parts of your site into different directories, make all your links a bit like the ones below. www.myworldsouthamerica.com Home page (called “index”) www.myworldsouthamerica.com/articles.html Home directory www.myworldsouthamerica.com/contact_us.html Home directory www.myworldsouthamerica.com/photos.html Home directory www.myworldsouthamerica.com/forum This means its in another directory (/forum) So when you make the page contact us, you would call the page contact_us & publish, then the link to this page would be www.myworldsouthamerica.com/contact_us.html & so on for all pages in your home directory. Also known as public_html Good luck Chris. |
