Default Re: Linking pages

Hello. I do not want to use the stock buttons or bars to link my pages. What I want at the bottom of each page is " <back next>" (these would be two separate blocks of text). I consulted the text link tutorial and find that it leads my to hyperlink (blue text, underlined). I don't want this.

What I want is to be able to link to my pages using text. Is there some way I can do this without using the hyperlink function?

Would appreciate any help or clues.

Thanks, Innaphog

you can still use the hyperlink and change the style to any color you want, and remove the underlines or make italic use edit style and then name your style and apply it to your links

To further what Ann stated, using the hyperlink puts in the text link you want - it's up to you where it links to. But there is coding you can do to use a back - next also.

For the back button: use BV's advanced button, make it On click, and select as action "Go to the previous page".

For the next button you'll want to use the standard link and select the page that you want them to go to next.

Thank you Ann and Beth. It worked! Now, I think I may need to tweak a bit more. When I click on next, it turns blue, underlined. Can I avoid this? I would be ok with underlined (in the same color as the text) but I haven't figured out how to do this. I suspect I must add an additional style, and that my choices (link, active link, etc.) come into play here. Any help you can give is appreciated.
I finally published a couple of pages just to test the links. You can see it here: www.avignondeluxe.com

Thanks again for your help

Beth, I now want to put the back link as you suggested using the "advanced" button. Where is this? or which button? I see something in the insert menu but I can't follow from there. Just point my nose in the right direction.
Thanks,
Innaphog

P.S. still need answer to the previous post. (Not pusihing...just didn't want you to think that I'd figured it out.)

Hi, it doesn’t seem like you are using the advance button.
(Top of BV & has a colored ABC on it) Then follow Beth’s post

Hi Again,
Ok. located advanced button, did that only to discover that it has a button effect that I wanted to avoid. So I'll just use the hyperlink tool.

HOWEVER, I would still like to know if it is possible to click on the link (next >) without getting the underline...or without getting the blue. It's frankly ugly in the context of my site and I will try just about anything to get around it.

Anyone?? Thanks, Innaphog

Hi, you could just use a menu bar (2nd one up on the left hand menu)
With the 1st idea, (advance button) you can make this an image (arrow)

Hi. It’s a good way to do this. But will only work in IE if this is ok.
Not Firefox & opera.

Mouse over both the "Select" links for the dates, as well as the "Visit Williams Inn Hotel" link, to check it out.

Well, I used the menu bar (useful to know that Lara's way will work as well)/

Chris's suggestion worked very well...I think. I've created such a mess of published pages (all my fault, was renaming pages and not thinking logically). Now, what I would like to do is delete the pages I have published so far, and publish the ones that have been done right. I started out trying to correct my errors, but only made things worse. I submitted a support ticket about how to delete published pages, and they directed me to the tutorial on CP File Manager. But I need a bit of handholding here...I couldn't intuit from what the tutorial said (something about creating a new folder) how I was going to delete my pages. SO...I tried dragging public_html to the trash can, but it wouldn't let me. Please help...I'm so close!
Thank you, Innaphog

Connect with FTP, select the files, and delete them.

Arh! Shame on me. Ya right. I wasn’t adjusting every stage of the link, only the linked part.

PS. Your sites coming on well. Nice to see you have a price list as well.

Cheers.

Hi Chris,
Thank you. Yes, I'm trying to create interactive priceslists where the visitor can select what he wants and the script calculates the total charge, applies eventual discount and gives the net amount. So one can have an immediate cost estimation.
