Default Linking a second page.

I`ve followed the details in a tutorial about a second page.
I entered my URL and saved page name in the link button, but it shows as page not found when clicked.

Please help!!!!!

I believe what you have done is published you page named

wines.bvp

reopen the page called this in your web builder ...

resave it by the name wines only - NAME- SAVE- PUBLISH - AS WINES

republish

and link to it from your main page as

http://www.winesincornwall.co.uk/wines.html

publish as html (not the name) (check in page properties that this is what you are publishing as .html)

I really recommend you keeping the pages that belong to your website on your website ...

To correctify your problem firstly, you need only to create a page called wines, save it as wines, publish it as wines and then apply the linking to your button on the index page, as http://www.winesincornwall.co.uk/wines.html

The only page you name, save and publish as index, is the main page of your domain ....

You have done that correctly ...

You can find all the pages you made for your website in your MY DOCUMENTS FOLDER, on your computer, under a file folder named BLUE VODA - have a look and see what you have stored in there ...

Open up your blue voda web builder, browse to that area and find the file you want to use for wines ... then do the above ... and don't forget to publish them, (Be careful not to republish your index page as something else, or vice versa, your index page is working)

In answer to your latest question, the link you provided goes to the general area of msn ... you would need the actual address that shows in your browsers address field, you would then insert this url, (address) into one of the buttons you have made on your webpage, (Since this would then direct the viewer to a page not on your site, I suggest also, to set the target of this link to _blank, this will allow the viewer to visit your other are and still have your own website open)

Post again, if things are still unclear ....

EDIT: The latest link your provided also is not working ...

I`m so sorry Ladyeye.... I`ve tried to follow your instructions but when I save as HTML a warning appears saying it won`t read properly (which it doesn`t). Can you tell me where to browse for the file from. i.e. New Page.>clone page....etc.
I`m at a brick wall and frustrated.
Please help,
Thanks,
Martyn

We can do this ...

Okay, open up your blue voda web builder, and "Open an Existing Page" - this will take you to an area on your computer where your .bvp files are stored. Browse for the one that you made called wines ... open it, save it as wines and publish it as wines - only wines, nothing else ...

You did make a page with your web builder right??

Let's get you through that step first ... let me know when you have done that ... and that you have published it ... okay ...

If you remember in todays reply I said I had lost my original created page and probably saved it as index.
I need to know how to get a file I`ve saved as a doc. in my documents into Blue voda so that I can save it to be published.
Sorry if you misunderstood my last posting.

Okay, you will then open up a new page in blue voda, also open up the document that contains the information you want to put on your wines page, and copy and paste that information to that page ... you will have to work about it a little bit to format for your blue voda page, but after you have it that way, name it wines, save it as wines and publish it as wines ... then that page should work ...

you will then need to apply the link for that page on your index page ... which is now kind of a problem to republish ... since you believe you have overwritten it ..

I would advise to open up the index page and see if that is your index page or your wines page .... do this first ....

If it is your wines page, name it wines, save it wines and publish it wines ...

If it is your index page, (The page you see when you go to your domain name) you are okay ... all you will need to do is apply the link for the wines page ...

NOW - If it is the wines page, this means you have lost your index page, (confusing I know) but what you will have to do, is import a page from html .. this you do when you open a new page, then choose file, import from existing html page - you then type in the name of your domain and it will come onto that page for you ... you may have to change a bit and add the pics again, but you will then rename, resave and republish as index

Sounds like alot but really it is not ... go have a look and we will take it from there ....

Okay, you might be forgetting to use the insert text tool, you need to do that, then you copy inside of the text box ... sorry I forgot to mention that ...
