Default menu bar

In the menu bar, when I am creating the various pages some of the page names are too long (for the page area-not the menu bar tool) and I need to cut the name in two like

Baby Beddings
& Furnishings

but it will only allow me, as far as I can tell, to put the entire name on one line. Does anyone know maybe how I can get the name on 2 lines?

Thank you
Diane Milinowski

I don't think that you can. However, you can use individual text boxes and make your links that way.
BTW, I believe that the menu bar is a javascript function. SE's cannot see links installed using js.
I do use js menus but I also reproduce the links using text as a footer on pages where I consider SEO important.
The top menu on this page www.zone5pix.com is js. I then have a text menu for the SE's on the bottom of the page.

Hi, Place a <br> inbetween the text to create a break.

hello terry, I have visited the link you've provided in your post... Is there any chance you can explain to me how your made your menu bar on the top? I use a table with colored cells but it's not the same result, and it looks awkward. Thanks for your help.

Herman

The menu is made using a javascript menu generator. Contact me thru one of my sites and I can be more specific.

Terry is right about menu bars being JS. Not only do the search engines miss them, but sitemap generators aren't too clever at picking them up either.

I just changed my text menus for menu bars and my site went from 125 pages to 17 according to the new sitemap. The easiest way to fix this is to avoid menu bars altogether and use a simple text menu.

Another point to bear in mind is the user. IE in Vista is ridiculously restricted and will not display a JS menu unless the user jumps through a load of hoops, which may be fine for me and you, but could frighten off a number of inexperienced users.

Forgive me for posting in this thread, but I thought it might be important.
In reading this I clicked on Carbon Terry's website -zone5pix.com - to view the menu at the top. I'm using FF and I right clicked on View Page Source and on the page that opens I get a message that reads:
"************************************************* **********************
YOU CAN MANUALLY CHANGE THE MENU HERE, BUT BE VERY CAREFUL !
************************************************** *********************/

Menu1=new Array("Home","http://www.zone5pix.com","",0,20,55);

Menu2=new Array("Printed","http://www.zone5pix.com/printed.html","",0,0,60);
...
I have no idea if this has any meaning but I don't see it on other pages including mine.
Just a heads up, FWIW.

Hi Diane,

My suggestion is you redo your menu using the various options
available in BlueVoda.

With BV you are in full control. You can view and correct where you have gone wrong.

No misery or headaches.

All BlueVoda need is your imagination.
