Default how to change menu at all pages in one go

I am just trying to get familiar with BV and have made a menu in the template. I have made 3 pages from the template. How can I change the menu without having to change it in all 3 pages ?

Hi Karen, I tried it but I have one more question as I only want to use the preview mode. Can the result only be seen when published or is it possible to see it in the preview mode aswell ?

Hi Karen, just to clarify my posting. I made a preview of the page with the html insert as advised and of the matching menu with php publishing option. Both previews have been stored as html in the same folder. Shouldnīt the menu show when I open the page with the html insert ?

The page should be saved as a php. My browser wont show it in php .. you have to change the properties to html to view it.. just remember to change it back to php when publishing.

Thanks for answering so quickly. Eventhough I choose the option to publish in PHP the preview file has html extension. Is that correct ?

Hi Karen, may I take up your time again. I canīt get it work in the preview mode. Is it possible that it only works when uploaded to the server ?
Thanks again. Thomas

Hi Walk

it needs to be published. not sure if your uploading is the same as publishing.

Thanks Millie,
I guess pulishing is the same as uploading but I am not quite sure. Does somebody know ? I does not work on my computer with previewing. I donīt have an upload account with BV yet. I just wanted to test a few things before I switch to BV, especially this PHP menu issue as I have a rather big website at a different supplier. Thomas

Hi Walk

In VB, to you need to publish to view what you want. You can't publish if you do not have an account. My site uses one menu for all the php pages (thanks Navaldesign). www.subeagle.com. Have a look.

Sorry, I meant to say, you need to publish to see what you want in a php page. you can preview all html pages. I did not mean to confuse you.

Publishing is not the same as uploading. These are 2 different things.
Bv will only work on a VH server.
php pages will only work when all pages relating to one have been published.

Hi Millie, I had a look at your website. What a coincidence - I am German golf club manufactuer and your are involved in golf aswell !
Have a look at www.walkgolf.de
Our website is old fashioned frame based and oldfashioned looking. I want to bring it up to the newest standards and I thought BV would be quite good for it as I want to control it myself. But before I go for an account I wanted to test a few things. I guess you are quite happy with BV ?! Any problems with it ?

I am happy with it, although this is my first time in publishing. lots of good people in this forum to help out when you have a prob or do not know how to do something. you can start with the basic and go quickly to the advance and there will be folks to help you out. they did for me.
