Thread: One (1) link not working so far..

Good morning, sir..

I already published my site named http://www.mutyapublishing.com. I have problem with my link http://www.mutyapublishing.com/Fil/K...na_Pagbsa.html. It says that "HTTP 404 NOT FOUND." I checked the filename and folder location, they are right there. Also checked the published folder and it's correct.

Can you help me solve this problem? So far only that link is not working.

Please give some advices..

Can you go look at your saved page and copy EXACTLY the name you have the page saved with and post it please? Do NOT do it by memory - copy and paste it please.

This are the filenames in bvp format (saved in BlueVoda):
1. Kritikal_na_Pagbasa
2. Pagbasa_at_Pagsulat_sa_Iba't_Ibang_Disiplina

I already checked the right filename and it is the same filename I saved when I publish those pages under the folder "Fil". On my cPanel, those two (2) and the other pages are saved on the "public_html/Fil".

On my main page, http://mutyapublishing.com, choose subject area on my drop down menu on the upper-left "Filipino".

And it will direct you on the http://mutyapublishing.com/Fil. These are categories who'll see: "Filipino 1", "Filipino 2", and "Filipino 3". On "Filipino 2" category, the first and third links says "HTTP 404 FILE NOT FOUND". I linked those files with html extension names as the other links do. You can try the links on "Filipino 1" category which the all the links worked. It is the same procedure I did on saving and publishing the pages on "Filipino 1" category and "Filipino 2" category.

Why does the links of two (2) mentioned above not showing while I did the same procedure? Please help me, mesdames..

As I suspected - I just checked one of them and you have a typo - which is why I specifically asked you to cut and paste.

Notice in the url you have Pagbsa not Pagbasa - when I add the a to the url - it works just fine :)

I suggest you look just as closely at the second one.

I believe in the tutorial it instructucted you NOT to name your pages with capital lettters...Please click the below...

Okay.. I tried what the forum administrator and Ms. Bethers advices me.. And it's still not working..

well, you must have done something else wrong - cuz the page that I could see yesterday when I spelled it right - isn't there now - so did you rename them without the capitals as instructed, but not change your navigation to them?

Alright, mesdames, at last i know why the links are not working. I checked the spelling of each links. The "publishing" is not spelled right, it is "pubishing". Thank you so much for your, sir and mesdames..

I'm editing the mispelled word on the cPanel. Is that ok if im making some changes on the cPanel HTML file of a specific page?

You can simply save your page with the correct name, (Use the Save As) and republish your page. From CP File Manager or BlueFTP you can delete the wrong page.
