Thread: Hellppp

I am very very new at this and I am having trouble!!! all right well I have put up my index page and now I am trying to hyperlink my pages. I follow all the directions but it keeps directing me to a page that has a 404 error. I dont know what I am doing wrong please help.

What did you NAME your 2nd page - and by that - I mean what did you save it as? That has to be identical to what you use in the url. Right now the url has http://www.hitchentertainment.ca/site2.html - so - is the page names site2 ??? Or what is it saved as and published as?

my second page is saved site2 and I tried to publish it as http://hitchentertainment.ca/site2.html.

if it is saved as site2 (site2.bvp)
then it should be published without adding anything else.(BV adds the html part)
then the link to site2 is http://hitchentertainment.ca/site2.html

yes I have saved it as that and tried to link it. I am so confused on why this wont link together. I have tried to put in a support ticket, i have tried watching the videos, i have tried reading all the forums and i just dont understand why this wont link. any suggestions???

When you click to save the page, what exactly are you typing into the box? Also, when publishing, what folder is displayed in the publish window? It should be public_html.

when I save the page i am saving it as site2 and thats it. My public_html comes us but i have to click on all files on the bottom to actually be able to cick on the files. Should I be saving them as some thing else?? html? bvp?

No, when you have the page open, and after saving it, click the 'Publish' button on the top toolbar. Once you've done that, a window will open where you enter your username, password and IP Address, as well as choose the folder you want to publish to, in this case that being public_html. Once those details are entered, simply hit the 'publish' button.
