Thread: No text with mouseover on text menu

Hi all,

I have been trying to get the mouseover to work on a text menu. My understanding is that if I fill out the Alternate Text in Text Menu Properties and publish or preview I should see the text when moving the mouse over the text of the menu. But, alas I do not.

Would anyone be so kind as to offer me some of your esteemed guidance in this area.

Thanks for coming to my assitance. Unfortunately I have already watched this tutorial 3 times and have applied what was in the tutorial, but alas, with no success. The link works just fine, but there is no mouseover effect (ie no text displayed on moving mouse over the link after publishing). I have filled out the Alternate text field. I cannot think of anything else that can be done. It all seems very straight forward and uncomplicated but yet it does not work.

Noel what are you trying to see when you mouseover? an image? a popup? the text in another color?

I tried it myself and the alt text doesn't show up for me either, I submitted this thread under BV9 to see if we can get a solution.
We will wait and see ...

Hi there.. the Alternate Text option is for people who have images turned off on their brower. For example, if you have an image of a dog on your page, and you have the word 'dog' as your alternate text, if I have image display turned off when I'm browsing your site, I would see the word 'dog' instead of the image of the dog.

I thought the lack of mouse over effect on the text menu (with alt field completed) was a technical issue and so I submitted a support ticket. The reply I recived back was that it was a 'design issue' and therefore needs to be referred to the community support forum, and hence my posting.

Appreciate your help.
