Default php vs bvp for linking pages

In my first site I saved all the pages as php in the page properties and they come up as php when I want to link them to another page. OK

Now, in my second site I did the same thing but I have to manually change the .bvp to .php for links to other pages. Can you tell me why? What should I do so I don't have to do that change?

Please and thank you for your help,
    Deet

.bvp is how bv saves your pages/

When you are making your page in your page properties, where it says file extention, select php to be used when publishing. That is all you need to do.

Thanks for your response, Liz, but it doesn't help me because that's exactly what I was doing. It worked beautifully in the first site but not the second.

May I tell you what I did? Maybe you can see my error.

After the page was built (more than one page actually) I went to page properties and filled out what I needed including the php box then saved the page "as" and published.

Do you see anything wrong in this process?

    Thanks,
    Deet
