Thread: struggling to create a pdf download

Hi everyone ...

I am trying to enable the download of a pdf from a link to an image but its not working.

I've followed the tutorials for uploading files and creating links and seem to be following the instructions - started over several times but nothing seems to work as you will see if you go to:

Don't mind if you speak in a LOUD voice and very slowly 'cause 'this stuff' is v-e-r-y new to me!

for a start your link above is not working

and this could not be found either:

Ok, left .html of the link I posted David, but why doesdn't the pdf downlaod any ideas?

Well its NOT in the same directory as your image/link otherwise it would have found it.

Check your spelling of the file and the link.

check that it is actually in your directory.

THANKS Dave! I had originally put it in the cgi bin (whatever that is) like I'd seen on the tutorial. Moved it to the public folder and it works perfectly.

Another query ... at the moment people can get to the download page by only partially filling in the form on the previous page AND if they do that it won't deliver their details to my email address as I've set it up to do

How can I fix it so that ALL of the form has to be completed to move forward?

Is it a bv form, abvfp, form wizard, outsourced form ??

Whatever, you need to look at field verification..............
