Thread: custom error page - did I do it right?

Hi,
I have tried to set up a custom error page for my website - I've been redesigning and renaming files and getting alot of 404 messages in awstats. (I don't know if that only affects robots, but anyway....)

I tried using Carbon Terry's method here

When I got to the "box", there was stuff already written in it. I left it there, and added the code.

so, I'm not sure what happened?
how do you test this, anyway?

You must delete the existing info first, then paste the new html into the page.

also, at the bottom of the box, I think I remember it says shtml - should I leave that?
