Thread: Can't link a new page

I’ve created a new page and tried to link via a button using http://www.wealthypoet.com/petstories.php (php because there’s a form on the page) just as I have all the other pages on the site. But I continue to get “the page cannot be found.” I created the page (petstories) by cloning, editing and renaming another. Thought that might be the problem, but no. Then I copied and pasted the entire new page into a blank page. No change. I published the new and revised pages to my existing website anyway, think that might fix it. No. I can’t think of what I’m doing wrong.

Darren, works fine when I click from your message, but not when I'm on my site on the Internet!

The one I posted here has a .html extension, yours has a .php extension.

You need to change the link on the relevent BV pages and republish them.

Although what I have told you would work. I've just had a look around your site and noticed all your other pages are .php.

This is probably the best course of action

Open up the petstories page. Away from any content right click - page properties - change file extension to php - republish.

Sorry should've had a proper look first time round.

Well, I just poked around but didn't do anything I was aware of and, like magic, it suddenly started working. After hanging around computers for a few years, that should not come as a surprise to me. Thanks, guys.
