Thread: unpublished site.

Hi. I haven't published my site yet, and I know theres already a post on this, but as I'm new (i know, no excuse! lol) I need some info thats slightly different.
I haven't bought a domain name yet and don't have a vodahost account, I'm wondering, on the index page of my site, what will the url be in the navigation buttons to link them to the other pages I have created? Do I just type http://index for the home page, or for a page titled "gallery" do I type http://gallery? Will the domain name go after index and gallery in the url? Hoping to get this site up in the next couple of weeks. Will I have to wait until I have a vodahost account before I can put the url in for the pages I've created?

You have to have a domain name first before you can attempt to link anything. The format goes like this
http :// www .yoursite.com/pagename.html
I added spaces in there so it will not try to link.

Forgot to ask in previous post, when I have a vodahost account and my websites been published, will I be able to access the "root" folder of my site? The reason I ask is that at present, I have a site thats a "free website" type, and i have problems getting it recognised in google searches, because i can put the meta tags in the appropriate places. Not sure if this will make any sense? Just dont want to be stuck with the same kinda problems I have at present!! I gather with voda host, I'll be able to put tags in the "header" etc?

You place your meta tags in the Page Properties box and away you go..........
You can place your header tags easily enough as well.

No need to access your root directory, you will have your public_html directory where everything else goes. (Basically, that is your root)

Hi David! Superb! Thats what I wanted to hear!!!! Deff looking forward to finally getting this site off the ground. The freeby sites are just a testing platform to have fun/practice on, but every site needs a host like vodahost to make it a success.
