Thread: I linked my pages wrong

Hi, finally got off my butt and bought a vodahost account! I published my site, and the index page comes up perfect, but when i click on a link to the other pages, i get a "404 webpage not found" error. What have I done wrong? I still new to all this so guess I haven't done pages correctly or something? Any help mucho appreciated!

Each link is calling for "http:///". I suspect the rest of each link you typed has gone away because of the extra "/". In other words, "http://www etc. is what you want.

Ok, I've changed the links, but still no worky? I noticed in the blue voda program, when I click on "verify links" it comes back as "urls not found?

You did not add the extension to your links, here are two of your pages

I did not find the forum, check as to how you saved it and the correct extension.

Your almost there, Dave! If you take your "Gallery" link as an example, it's looking for your Gallery page, of course--bit your Gallery page is actually named "gallery.html". So here is the correct link

Be sure to correct all links on ALL your pages.

Thanks guys!!!! Thats it sorted, sorry if i'm being a tad "doh"!! lol The support here is excellent! So glad I chose blue voda and vodahost!

On the forum button, I knew that one wouldn't work!!! lol I'm hoping to make that open the php forum that vodahost offers, but I havent got a clue about that yet!!

Cool! Regarding the forum, phpBB 2 (the Voda one) is no longer supported by phpBB.com because they are now at version 3. I'd recommend start with 3 because it's pretty tough updating later. Unhappily, the phpBB forum is down right now but will likely be back by the time your ready to rumble.

lol just my luck that its down!! i take it I can download PHPbb3 for free, and easily add it to my site? sorry to be a pain asking all these questions, but if you don't ask.................lol
I have an idea that i'm going to try just now that i did with the freeby website i have.

phpBB is totally free. You can download it and get to their help forum--but the tutorials and support pages are unavailable I believe.
