Thread: links to bvp and html

newbie question but I can`t get my head round this linking problem

The link is a VH temp url while I test the site
http://75.126.104.131/~tradingf/

I have created the site with BV. Fantastic bit of kit.

Ok, I create a hyperlink to another page on my site, say chat_room
In BV when you create a link it asks you to link to file/http/gopher/mail to, etc
Well, of course, I link to a file that I`ve created on my computer:
C:\Users\Peter\Desktop\tradingfootball\pages\chat_ room.bvp

I create all my pages and links with menu bar/images/text. Fine

I then publish all these pages. Apparently, the .bvp extension is changed automatically to .html

But the links I have don`t work. I`m missing something pretty major here

I know this is going to be a simple answer.

after publish will be in html or php, no more bvp

what is your domain name .
fisrt page is Saved As index and publish

after index, other pages might be
yourdomain.com/aboutus.html

My temp VH URL is http://75.126.104.131/~tradingf/

In order to test these links
I need to create a link to chat room page, for example, like this:
http://75.126.104.131/~tradingf/chat_room.html

I hope this is right!

When I finallly point my real domain name www.tradingfootball.eu to VH DNS
I have to change all my links so they look like this:
e.g http://www.tradingfootball.eu/chat_room.html
or is it http://tradingfootball.eu/chat_room.html

I`m still not clear what to do when I`m ready to point my domain name to VH name servers.
Do I have to update manually all the links to http://mydomainname.eu/index...etc

Your temporary url is just a temporary url. Make all your links as normal. IE: http://mydomainname.eu/ for your home page & http://mydomainname.eu/contact.php for your contact page. I only takes 72 hours max for your domain name to propagate & will quite often be done in just a few hours.
