Thread: BV Back up & restore

Hi, would be nice to have a restore/recovery in the BV program.
Just had a power cut (Did the language go blue) (Yes) . I know its my fault for not hitting the save button whilst working. But it would be nice to have this facility.
Similar to what happens in MS word when this happens & you get a 2nd chance.

That’s of course unless VH has a spare UPS they can ship to me. lol./

Sorry to hear about your lost work, there is nothing more frustrating!
I am living and working out here in Spain, where power cuts are as regular as siestas! I have a belken power management unit that has been invaluable to me it automaticaly shuts down my system when I am not here and gives me 10-15 mins on battery power when there is a cut.
It only cost me €85, about 60 Pounds Sterling. I have been using it here and in the UK for the last 18 months and have not had a problem. No more lost work!
The one I am using is the, belkin master, I consider it to be a must have!

Hi Mark, You are absolutely right & I am going to order one now. I wouldn’t mind, but I live 8 miles from the centre of London UK & had 3 outs in the last 2 months. (Must admit this is unusual).
Do you know if there is any maintenance on the UPS’s, as I have heard that the batteries/capacitors have to be changed at some time? But wasn’t sure if this was right, if this was the case? It maybe just cheaper to replace the unit in a few years time.

You need a UPS, besides losing your work, a small power spike can completely fry your hard drives and your motherboard. I suggest you get a UPS asap.
