I do not question your intent, but you are correct in discerning that once a door is opened, it is impossible to close again, and even less likely to predict with 100% accuracy where an innocuous "discussion" will turn .....
Let us not continue this for the same reasons.

I am confident that by now you can discern the different levels of cognizant ability each Moderator demonstrates, and yet we are united in our sincerity which supercedes all that we do. Thank goodness we pretty much know what we are talking about 95%+ of the time too!
