- The thread I provided a link to is a very concisely written, step-by-step set of instructions on how to do H-Meta properly and without error.
It has nothing to do with how many pages you have on your website at all: please read it again carefully to understand the technique so you can take advantage of it also.
The reference to the instructions being "updated" is regarding BV now being based in Unicode, so General Navaldesign's post offers a shorter method that is BV10+ compatible (post #3 I think???). - 06-21-2008 01:34 PM - permalinknavaldesignYou can create a new database even without adding a user.
You can create and add a user at a secong time, or you can also add one of the existing users to the new database. - No problem, John! For more info on H-Meta, use this link --- and if you are using BV10, pay attention to General Navaldesign's "updated" tip posted there also....
- META values should be created individually for each page (Page Title, Key Words, Page Description, Author, H-Meta) -- specifically relating to the relevance of the unique Content anchored on each page: by doing so, you create a tight "weave" of inter-related information the Search Engines value highly, and thus have a standard to "rank" each page as both part of a whole (your website) and individually (for specific Searches their clients may key in).
Do not count on a once taken-for-granted practice that the SE's automatically read and rank Content without being encouraged (they once would cache everything, despite missing KW and such), but no longer! With so many new websites every cycle, they are becoming stricter and stricter on evaluating sites according to the "Perfect Page" model, which includes the minutia of design principles, and the perfectiojn of implementation (including META and form).
Keep in mind that when creating h-Meta, you must always start with the index page: you can do only the index page, but you cannot do interior pages without doing the index page first. And....the H-Meta has also become more important, and is in truth, indispensible in perfecting the Perfect Page modelled builds. - 06-19-2008 03:27 PM - permalinknavaldesignHohn, it is obvious that you are making some mistake thre. Either the details are not correct, or you have not added the user to the specific database.

rpghvlk_EasyArcade / Database
Password was (yes)
But I put that in "abcdef";// just as it look the way you gave it to me
I when back and fourth and change user name and password and still come up with that - 06-19-2008 11:26 AM - permalinknavaldesignThis means that the details you gave me are wrong: either the username, or the password. or the DB name

$dbhost = "localhost";// Your database host (usually localhost)
$dbuser = "rpghvlk_games22";// Your database username
$dbpass = "abcdef";// Your database password
$dbname = "rpghvlk_EasyArcade";// Your database name
$dbprefix = "ea_"; // Table prefix
?>
Copy the entire script as i posted it here. Do NOT change anything - Step by step, we all grow in knowledge and wisdom.
Take your time, and keep in mind one of the favorite mantras here in VodaLand:
"Plan Your Work, Work Your Plan"
If you do not have a written website plan, take time out to write one. Then not only will you have a clear direction to follow, but your plan will also become a means to measure your progress. As you make progress, you can then use the Search function in the Forums (top of every page) to locate previous threads, discussions, and real answers to present challenges without having to create new threads or posts and without wasting time hoping to have someone stop and give you help! It is a learned process, this building of websites, and so is learning how to navigate within an Online Community effectively and not unnecessarily prolific with posts .... (not scolding you, but trying to raise your understanding, OK?)
Have a great day! - 06-19-2008 08:22 AM - permalinknavaldesignI am not sure which is your DB name and which is the user name
Also, you have placed the details with ";" . Delete it.
Don't put the details outside the "" double quotes, should go between them
