- You think you have it bad with Contact forms??
I have had nothing but pure agony trying to get my forms to work, and I know what the hell I am doing! or so I thought...
Apparently (using BV9 for obvious reasons) you cannot put a "Form" over a "layer" and get the elements to remain 'associated' with the proper object: the "boxes" insert dually to the layer and the Form at the same time, and BV10 does not allow you to create a 'transparent' Contact form as I am trying to do over a picture). I need to figure out a way to keep the stuff IN the Form without becoming inoperable due to a conflict with the layer.... take a look at this Contact Form and you'll understand what I am talking about, and maybe the whole site (only 4 pages).
Now, I know this site is on the edge of "acceptability" to some of more "tempered senses" but it is in no way wrong of me to venture forth to offer services that have nothing to do with hosting at VH ---- this market is simply too huge to pass up offering SEO and paid positioning as far as I am concerned. Besides, I went out of my way to keep it classy and artistic, and celebratory of natural beauty. I did, however, have fun playing with the words and the constant double entente's!!!
It's very late here now, but I promise to look at your page when I awake to face another "lost weekend webbing", OK?? - I was referring to another conversation we were having "offline" and not really about anything in VodaLand (there's enough drama in here as it is, trust me!).
You will pick things up pretty quick .... just keep doing forum Searches, reading older threads, and basically pausing mid-stream to pencil or think things out. In my experience, most of the challenges others face and the resulting prolific posts are all rooted in a mis-understanding or lack of familiarization with the process or doing something, not the mechanics of actually doing it: that is why many offer feigned "thanks" or bow out sheepishly, since it becomes obvious they skipped a step or tried to do things their own way despite the efforts required to do it a standard way....
You will also see those who proffer advice and half-hearted "solutions" as a means of perpetuating some strange prestige ..... generally, they seem resigned in justifying their activity with some demonstration of 'good will' but the reason they back off or get frustrated is because they are constantly proven to be incorrect or dastardly incomplete when "helping" others who do not know better, and thus they create more problems for all those who are not even members of the forum as well (there are literally tens of thousands of visitors who do nothing more than use VodaTalk as an online resource and classroom).
Sad, but true ...... this online Community was once a vibrant close-knit place to evolve together, and now to me it seems to have become merely a place to find incessant bickering and nonsenscial banter that drives the Old Guard out and into self-imposed exile or "Retirement."
I hope you will be able to spot the pretenders to the throne and learn instead from the Best Practice modellers to allow yourself the greater opportunity, the grander result!
Read, do Searches, stick with your "Buddies," and share with those who come after you with the same freedoms and ethics you have enjoyed.
If need be, you can always find a way to shoot me an email, or if Gen. LadyEye is around, you can count on her too. I am trying to really phase away, and I am grateful life itself has enough to keep me busy to that end as well! - Really appreciate that Charlie! Thank you.
I went to an owl show back in erm.. march/april time.. Got to hold them then at night, as you can see... they did a show. Correct.. Was just with the flash. I focused on the light and kept my finger held down, til the owl flew near me then bam took the pic. Had to do it a few times to get the shot but got there in the end!
