Yup! Good old San Ramon .... where Chevron/Texaco fat cats sit ther behinds and where much of the tech sector money is managed. One of the reasons I branched out into the Corporate world/Services with Choice Incentive and ProMedia Unlimited (which I ressurrected: was a successful agency in the '80's that now supports my stuff online). I have been doing sites for a corporate program for clients like the NFL Alumni, SOI, University of Tampa, etc. so it's not like I am letting the opportunities go unnoticed just by being in the neighborhood.
I am not rich, but just well off enough to placate my preferences. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself! LOL

Closing the jewelry store is becoming something of an emotional roller coaster along with an operational nightmare. I will not depart from continuing to be heavily involved with eCommerce, and have on the drawing board not just the completion of 5 such sites, but a couple of travel sites also ...... I simply will not sleep until April, the way it looks.

Yeah, but I think I am getting cheap in my old age. Last time I did the POD during remodelling the house it was like $165/month, and to move it they want $4500 .... last time I popped only $1700 for Allied to move a whole housefull to Florida! And, since gas is falling, I figure so should this unnerving quote too! Stupid me, huh, wanting a lower price? I laugh at myself! Makes me think twice about what to move and what to throw out!

I mean .... I am used to pissing away $1000 a weekend on nothing but great food and a hotel!!!

That's do-able! I will be sending my stuff via a POD thing (makes it easier to unpack and "ease in" to my new livingspace, and will be coming across 10. I plan to make the drive in a little over 3 days, since this time I won't be pulling a trailer (last time I pulled a U-Haul with my Chrysler 300, and it took me 4.5) ...... I actually drove past the fires along 10 started by the falling Challenger debris.
On the way out here, I made it a point to stop in New Orleans for a little personal R&R as I had not had the chance to go there earlier, so stopping in the DFW area would be something I could definitely look forward to. It has been a long time since I went to one of those huge cowboy bars or shopped at the Galleria! LOLOL

Moving back to the Tampa area end of January or early February. I'm closing my reatil showroom in the Bay Area (CA), taking a 3-yr Golden Parachute, and will be "turning on" my online suite (multiple eCommerce sites and targeted market online design) to replace my Brick-and-Mortar income.

Being able to live very comfortably on the water in Florida for approximately 1/3 of what it costs to maintain my "luxury" lifestyle in San Ramon is a major "plus" in my book ...... and I have a lot of friends and unlimited potential waiting for me as well. Not 20 years old anymore, I have to plan better and streamline a lot to compensate for the "slowdown" I distress over so much!
(The only downside is leaving my parents in CA, and as they are getting on, they seem to be deteriorating rapidly). But, I gotta do what's best for me in the longrun, right?
