  • Adding Goole +1 Button -works inconsistently

    Hi!
I'm adding the Google+1 button to all of my pages and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I have noticed that it usually shows up if I add the script to an End of Body section which is already empty.

If there is already script there ( eg tracker code ) the button doesn't show up on the website when published.

Is this just a coincidence or is that the case? If not what could be going wrong?

EG It shows on this page but not this one

    Many thanks

Actually after several more attempts I've noticed the above observations re empty end of page section doesn't hold true.

I'm adding the given script to the End of Body in every page and adding the <g:plusone></g:plusone> text in the HTML box

Sometimes it works, mostly it doesn't. Can't see any reason why it should or shouldn't.

You have played with placement of the code in your pages, and published them multiple times ... as a result, I am sure there are residual elements that are conflicting.

You most likely need to use the COPY+PASTE method to re-build your page from scratch (on a clean page construct) using the precise instructions outlined in this Post (note there is no "end of page" but "end of body" which many consider to be the end of page --- very different) >> http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/goo...wordpress.html

Additionally .... the G+ Add Button does not offer a "tracking" or running "total" as does some of the Facebook buttons: they simply 'forward' your "Page/Site Likes" to your personal G+ Page.
Also, the G+ buttons are "gray out" (inactive) unless you are signed in to your G+ account .... unlike Facebook (which remains active whether or not you are logged in to your FB account), G+ makes a distinction to those who are "actively interacting online" with the site and the G+ platform by default.
