Sad thing is, I remember these all like it was yesterday .... MTV first came out with Debbie Harry (Blondie - "Heart of Glass") as first host; Midnight Concert; the new Trans Am; Frampton's Live Album; the gas shortage; President Ford falling again; real hashish becoming commonplace on the senior lawn at lunch; hang gliding becoming popular; Earth Day; having long hair and spending a lot of time combing it (LOL); big bell Levi's; Johnny Carson wearing all those stupid neck scarves; the twice weekly KSAN Street Reports where they announced the "purity" of anonymous samples of drugs sent in for testing; being able to buy a ticket for $7.50 to go to a club in Berkeley to sit with no more than 100 others to listen to bands like Steely Dan .....seriously! Like yesterday......

Know which one got to me the most? Cat Stevens ...... renouncing his faith -- [Greek] Orthodox Christian -- to "convert" to Islam.
Makes as much sense to me as the Beatles and then Zeppelin breaking up....

PS: Do you know how hard it is to find the original versions of these videos? OMG It's a sure sign they are all retired and counting nickels on the royalties, I suppose!
