can you install your own forum?

I have my own phpbb but it is phpbbfm same as phpbb2 but has more stuff on it. is it possible to host it on my server? if so how do i do it i followed all steps but after i transfer to server via ftp and create database name, user name, and password i go to type in the location of the install.php and get nothing but a page cannot display how can i get it to install by using mysql?

Normally within the files that you upload to your server you will have a file whixh you have to change some details so it knows where to look for the actual script etc. Did the script come with install instructions? If not look for a file named 'config' or 'Install'. HTH
