I'd like to save the data from my web page which is an online registresion form to a database file. Do I need to use PHP? How do you suggest me doto It?

Yes you will need to use PHP or another web based programming language (PEAR, ASP, etc). If you are wanting to program it your self then I would start with reading through some php tutorials..
