Thread: SQL and server address

Hi,
I am trying to connect a tool called "Optimize My Site" to my SQL data base. I uploaded Optimize My Site to my FTP server and opened it via my domain name www.voip-inform.com/optimizemysite/... . On the page that opens I am asked for the following:

Server address:
Database Username:
Password:
Database name:

To these questions I have answered the following:

74.86.118.19
shantir
***********
qazextr_voipinform

Here is the error message I receive:
Error: Unable to connect to the data
please, please double-check the provided connection info.

What am I not entering correctly??

Your username will have the prefix qazextr_ just like your database name. Also make sure you gave access for that username on that database.

I just tried again with the user name qazextr_shantir

So now my answeres look like this:

Server address: 74.86.118.19
Database Username: qazextr_shantir
Password: ***********
Database name: qazextr_voipinform

I still can`t connect. What do you mean by "give access on the data base for that user name?" I did asign all privileges to that user.

What else might be wrong?

Try "localhost" for the server address, some times they mean the host but they are not clear.
