Default website search: MySQL

Is it possible for people who visit my website to be able to search my MySQL database?

And could a BlueVoda Form act as such an interface?
e.g. people would enter keywords in the form and relevant results would appear.

what they are doing? What EXACTLY are u trying to accomplish......Maybe I
can point you in the right direction...what type of site is it?

I have a database full of information that I would like people who visit my site to be able to search using a keyword search, (kind of like Google but only for this database).

I don't want people to have access to the database though (they shouldn't be able to browse it or alter records). I am considering buying in the Zoom search facility from Wrensoft (wrensoft.com) but wanted explore all other options first. What do you think?

Check out www.hotscripts.com , you should be able to find a premade script for this. Also look in your fantastico...lots of stuff in there.

OK. I've now set up a MySQL database and looked at hotscripts.com. Wrensoft say that the Zoom search engine can connect to it if:

1) I link to the database with php script. (not had much luck finding this).

2) I provide a link from my site to every entry in the database (not sure how to link when there's no web address for the database entries)

These are my two problems. Any ideas?

Many Thanks.
