depends on what you are installing...localhost is usually part of the path along with the hostname_database and hostname_user with the password.

    No
    localhost is a parameter
database name is the name of the database that you must create in your cpanel first.
username is the name of the user that you created for your database.
password is the one that you specified when you created the database.

Thumbs up Re: MySQL database full path

    David is spot on!

I too was confused by the word 'localhost'.

In the old days of hand coded SQL db connections. The localhost location was related to your URL (ie.. localhost = "mysql1.www.abc.com").

But, the VODAhost gang has made it SO easy...

As David says: it is just "localhost"..

for example: when installing one of the many cool Fantasico apps, like Soholaunch, when it asks you for the location of the 'localhost', JUST enter 'localhost' ...

    SO simple, SO easy..

I beat my head on this one...

    another reason to love VODAhost.

    good luck
