Thread: database host for sql

I am trying to set up zen cart and it is asking for my sql database host, username, and password and I think database name. I tried entering my info and no combination seems to work. Is there a place to view all this info so I can get the correct info?

If your setting up it up manualy and not through fantastico then you will need.
First to set up a database in cpanel this will give you the database name username and password (of your making ) make a note of them. they will be something like your logon username then the name or password username_databasename

so when you come to the form which asks for this it will go something like.

Host = localhost (this is always localhost where vodahost is concerned.)
databasename = loginusername_databasename
username = loginusername_databaseusername
password = password you set up while making the database.

This still isn't working, any other suggestions? I have asked for help on the zen cart forum, but they are really slow to respond.

The above info by Alien Dude is correct. If it doesn't work, there must be something wrong in the info you are providing.

If you are installing zen cart through Fantastico, you are not asked any of these details as the installation is automatic.

Hmm I thought I was going through fantastico, maybe I will just start it over and see what happens. Thx
