Thread: Login page help?

Hi I have been trying to get my login page to work but to no avail?
www.kapitalaviation.co.uk/login.php it is not directing to the choosen page?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

BV11 is only a Beta version at the mo, & there is not many tutorials about yet. But BV11 is not yet stable & wouldnt recomend using it just yet as there maybe still changes to scripts.

Do you know of any good basic login scripts? I just need it to direct to a calendar/ booking page at the moment but will eventually need a script for up to 6 members so they have there own individual pages of private information?

If its only 6 members, create Password protected folders and give them the login details yourself.

The problem I have at the moment is I can't get the login script to work? I am not sure if it is me doing something wrong? (most probably) or if it is the login in BV11? www.kapitalaviation.co.uk/login.php

The login script uses php code, which is not visible in your pages code, so there is no way to see if you have something wrong or not.

Ok still confused with this login script?
when I click on the box at the part were it say's "behaviour"
I inserted the name of the protected folder and protected page ie;
database ./foldername/protectedpagename.html
destination page ./protectedpage.html (does not allow me to insert manually so cant put php)
error ./error.html

what else do i need to do? I have published the page loginphp and html
the php page shows some script were you put your username and then goes to the error page the html one loops back to the same page.

What am I doing wrong? I have probably confused anyone who dares looks at this thread.

Thanks to all that helped, I managed to get a login to work.

But now I have another problem regarding login that is, when you click the cancel login this comes up or if you click login in without entering user and password also if you get password wrong:
Authorization Required

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Since you are using the server / browser built in features, there is no way to control the look of the error page / error message.

With protected folders you will have to live with that.

You can, however, create a SHTML custom error page through your control panel (see Custom Error Pages section)
