Question How do I upload php files

    Hi Everyone,

I am having a problem trying to figure out how to follow these instructions I recieved from an affiliate program I joined. It's a template store I can incorporate into my site. Here's the instructions, I did the first couple of steps, so I won't list them here:

    Step Number 5:

    5) Upload all files inside the main folder to your server.
    6) Go to your site and check.. your site should now work fine.

Step 5 is where I get confuddled.

What I did was open page properties and changed the page to a php page, and I tried copying in every single script box in Blue Voda. Nothing.

Can you tell me what to paste the php codes into and how to access the particular files for editing after I upload them?. Break it down please so an idiot like me can get it?

    Thank You!

Your index file has been overwritten, are you sure that you have followed the instructions of your new php files ?

to get your site back to normal, re-publish your bluevoda index page.

Try creating the folder/directory before you try loading the script.

The above message indicates that you are trying to copy to a folder that does not yet exist.

I am using the ftp to upload the files. Do I have to upload each and every file manually? There are alot of files to upload in this program... Is there away to batch it? I'm confused. :(

Most scripts normally come with installation instruction.

If you have unzipped your downloaded file, then look to see if there is a readme file first.

In the absence of any instructions, you can try loading a whole directory of files, but my experience of the BV ftp program makes me want to upload a few at a time and then check afterwards.

What program are you trying to upload ?

Okay, this is what it says. Now I have loaded the files, manually, in a file I named php in my site directory. Now, what does it mean to change values to reflect my db connection properties?
    1. Download the latest gCards version from the official site
    2. Create a database to hold the gCards database tables (or use an existing database)
    3. Open the config.php and change the values to reflect your database connection properties and your gCards options
    4. If PHP's mail functions don't work on your server, change the mail settings for gCards in config_email.php
    5. Upload the files to your web server
    6. Browse to the setup.php file and choose to do a new install - this will create the database tables and create an admin user. If there are errors creating the tables then your database information is probably incorrect - fix it in the config.php and try again
    7. CHMOD the 'images' and 'sound' directories to '777' to allow image/sound uploads and modification
    8. Delete setup.php or CHMOD it to '000' so that it cannot be accessed
    9. Login to the gCards Administration Console with the user: 'admin' password: 'admin'. You can access the login page at login.php
    10. Click the 'Change Password' link in the upper right to change the admin password
    11. Add a Category using the 'Category Maintenance' link in the gCards Administration Console
    12. Add a new Card using the 'Card Maintenance' link in the gCards Administration Console
    13. Click the link in the bottom right to go to the index page of gCards - you're new Card should show up here!
    14. Done!!

You need to create the database first and then the install program will ask you for those details.........

I can install it for you if you wish.
