Here's the name of the file: ABVFP.v2
and here are the php contents in the zip file:

I just redownloaded it too. If I can't get it too work, is there another way to create a survey page?
The organizers of our class reunion are asking me to provide a questionaire/survey on our class website for our classmates to answer for a publication they are creating. I needed to do this like yesterday, is there an alternative?

Sorry, dbts_ABVFP_config.php is not a file that would be included in the zip. It is a file that is generated when you install ABVFP. Did you install the software ? If you have gone through the installation procedure, then the file should have been generated. If you wish, send me your loggin details (IP, username and password) and i will have a look.

I was refered to you by LadyEye to see if you could help me with this problem. I just copied what i send LadyEye. She sugested "email riddler".

I tried your sugestion LadyEye but it won't help. Whoever is sending these messages is not email crawling. I don't know how they do it but they use the form that we generated for tour requests to send links to their website. I don't think that they spend the time typing all the information out because we get one email from everyform on our entire site. I was thinking about adding one of those little boxes that makes you type in the letter that you see in the box inorder for the request to be sent. could that be a solution?

Any help will be Ooooh so greatly apreciated

Form scripts may or may not have security measures to prevent being used by spammers to send out emails to third parties. ABVFP has quite a few. The most important is that it checks if the submission is actually made from your form, or by a bot script that then uses YOUR script to send the mails. It will also put limits to the number of @ , http and www in the fields. No spammer will lose time to use your script if he has to do it manually. So, just install it and you are done.

If you wish i can also implement what you are asking for: a captcha (that's how it is called): a dynamically created image, with numbers and letters, which the visitor has to copy in a field, otherwise the form can't be submitted. If you wish me to do so, please contact me here. On my site, you can see some examples of our work.

I just installed ABVFP and installation went veeeeery smooth.

However, when I use the form to submit data (ok it gives me your thank you page) BUT where does all the information goes? In the database? How can I see the contents of the database? Can I also get an email whenever somebody uses my form?

The script will bυ default send you an email (an autoresponder email is sent to the visitor if you have checked "Yes" in the autoresponder section) . If you have also checked the "Yes" button in the Database section, then the info is also stored in the Database. To see that info, you need to go in your CP, MySQL section, phpMyAdmin, select the database ABVFP, Table Form_nr2 (or whatever your form ID is) and click on Browse. Not very easy, but the only free solution. The only alternative is a custom made script, like the ones you can see on www.dbtechnosystems.com

Νow, if you don't receivr the mail, there must be something wrong with the setup. Check your settings.

sorry, but i have a question with regards to forms, that is CGI-bin
i see from this page

about some tips about cgi bin, however, i think it does not really explain much. from what i know, CGI-bin is actually a folder to create a form, would you mind to elebrate more on this CGi-bin and CGI.pm, e-form.cgi thingy, i am really kin to know.. ..

cgi scripts can do a lot of works, just like php or javascripts. Usually they reside in a folder in your site, and whenever they are called in action (by a form or any other type of document) they will perform the action they have been designed for.

which one do you think will win an award if this particular page is going to be graded?
that is meant for forms and surveys... ...
what other things will you recommand for forms that will be kool and easy?

No, i reccomend using PHP instead of cgi. It is more direct.

As for forms, whatever type, (survey forms are just a type of form) i reccomend the use of Advanced BlueVoda Form Processor

Hi,

I have been working on ABVFP, cant seem to get it working right. I see a database in PHPmyAdmin. But nothing from my form fields. Only from the From Details and Autoresponder Details. When I hit submit nothing happens.

I do get an email though with this text: Values submitted from web site form :

The email does have the subject but in the From: I get: Sender Unspecified.

Please provide the form url. However, what you get in the mail (and in the database) depends on your settings
