You are NOT refering to ABVFP. Are you, by any case, confusing ABVFP with FMP ?

Dear naval
I can't get ABVFP to install.
My main site is http://www.webbrok.com
Under this hosting package I have a site http://www.thebabydolls.biz
I downloaded and extracted the files.
I created an ABVFP file in my public_HTML folder as well as in the babydolls site where I want the contactform and uploaded the files into both.
I have entered the database name as follows: CPusername_CPusername_webbkcom_ABVFP
The databse user as follows: CPusername_webbkcom_BruceHe
And inserted the password as created for the user.

I keep on getting a "cannot connect to the database server message"

Password as created.

Also, make sure that you have ADDED the user webbkcom_BruceHe to the database webbkcom_ABVFP

The non existance of the file dbts_abvfp_config.php can mean two things:
1. You have uploaded the script files, but you have NOT installed it. Please read the tutorial that is included in the zip, to see how you can install and use ABVFP. If you have installed it, you should have received both a confirmation screen and an Automated Installation mail from the installation wizard.

2. If you did install it, then you might have a permissions issue. Make sure that all files in the ABVFP folder have permissions set to 644.

Thanks Navaldesign for the quick reply.
I checked all that you mentioned:
I received a Congratulations page and e-mail for the instaling and changed the permissions for 644 for all files inside ABVFP folder.
I saved the form with action "dbts_abvfp.php" and formit like the ID form received.

After all this i have exactly same problem.

Can you help me.

Meanwhile the problem is solved.
I deleted all files in ABVFP folder and instaled again. Now is OK.

I have a page which has; let's say 2 columns. left column is for registration and right column is for login.

And after logging in, let's say a "Welcome back Pedro" message appears on the index page. Is this possible to create with ABVFP?

No. ABVFP is a FORM PROCESSOR. A login script consist of various scripts, all working together, with database storage of the info, and MANY checks (unique username, password, email, encryted email, forfot password feature, cookies, sessions, and so on.

ABVFP can process the info from a form, meaning send you an email and store the info in the database, but it cannot be used as a login script.

If you are interested, have a look at http://www.dbtechnosystems.com/my-solicitor/menu1.php which is such a login i created.

Hello again. I installed ABVFP and got as far as creating a form page in the ABVFP control panel. But the instruction says I have to change the permissions to the file: dbts_ install.php” to be “000”. How do I do this?

This is a security measure. After you have verified that ABVFP is installed correctly (you recieve a confirmation email) connect with FTP to your site. Go to the ABVFP folder, and RIGHT click on the file dbts_install.php . Select Properties. In the "Permissions" field type "000" . That's all.
