| I downloaded the new version of Blue Voda (9.0.3) and it totally changed the way my templates/web pages appear in BV. The left column of my template does not go all the way to the bottom. The lines in between parts of my template show the background color instead of white. When I preview or publish the page it looks perfect but why is there the discrepancy? I also get an error that the file cannot be found when I try to access the templates/web pages from My Documents where I have my BV folder? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. www.durlandgolf.com |

Not sure if this has been reported. I get black lines around most items on the page IE: an image/shape/ box & so on. But if I also try to add a border to an item, it won’t show until I preview. There just seems to be a lot of black lines. Cheers.

So .... here is what perhaps may be going on ... I have found with the release of BV9 (and its recent upgrades to it) that the pages within your web builder are set in a standard format. This is a definite great feature of the new version 9, it will help maintain your page within the '800 width that your pages are recommended to be built at. If you have previously built your website with pages that are wider than this, you should either adjust your web pages and republish, or adjust the margins within the builder to accommodate this ... your choice The very same scenario with the length of your page, so if you are only seeing part of your template going down the page, increase your margins, bottom left in the builder, and move your page downward ... Hope this helps ...

I have just installed the new version. My problem is that when I preview or publish and view my new pages all picture links are displayed in continuous blue text at the top of the page. Also the black borders that I put around my images have turned to blue (I think this is because they are links themselves). Please help. sttcars, You have manualy added HTML code to your links, but this code is invalid. Please remove all manually added HTML or make sure it is valid.

Pablo .... Boss ..... There has been some mention of "black lines" on objects that was not seem is earlier versions, and I am expereincing some myself...in of all things, simple reset/sumbit buttons in an email form. I am also quite dismayed at the loss of being able to "format" buttons and text boxes as could be done earlier: buttons especially, bit also the backgrounds and borders in text boxes and "upload" boxes remain white with gray/blue borders no matter what you do! I had to actually abandon plans and re-think one project today because of it. You can see for yourself on this "side-site" I am scrambling to finish (a BV site under a Flash site for enhanced SEO, and as an option for visitors), and how close I came to uniformity without making it all the way. If this was to be the main site itself, I would not feel too bad, but I miss BV7! LOL This is the Flash version, if interested.

I'm not aware of any problems related to black lines, formatting or any of the other issues you've mentioned. If you think you've found a problem, please include the exact steps how we reproduce this behaviour. Also make sure you have the latest version 9.1.

Forgive my ignorance but please explain what you mean by manually added html code? I wasn't aware I did anything other than make a picture a link to a popup page. How do I remove this or make sure it is valid? Im assuming it is valid as everything worked fine with the older bv version. Much Appreciated. Steve. (I tried removing the 'link' from each individual pictures properties. I then selected each picture and used the link feature from the top menu bar but this made no difference) |

Whren I look at the source code of your page it looks like this: Code:
<a href="<A href="#" onClick="window.open('http://www.st-cars.co.uk/fordfocustdiwjsmopage.html', '','width=920,height=700'); return false;">http://www.st-cars.co.uk/fordfocustdiwjsmopage.html"><img src="http://www.st-cars.co.ukk/focus1.JPG" id="" alt="" align="top" border="2" width="248" height="184" style="position:absolute;left:20px;top:2350px;width:252px;height:188px;z-index:12"></a> which are already generated by BlueVoda. I assume you want to create a popup window, instead of a regular link, so maybe this code will work if you put it inside the URL field: Code:
#" onClick="window.open('http://www.st-cars.co.uk/fordfocustdiwjsmopage.html', '','width=920,height=700'); return false;

Another issue: open any long page (that takes more than the screen in height) . Now, highlight any text, and try to change the font. When the font dropdown opens, scroll down (or up) with the scroll wheel. You will see that the page also scrolls. The same goes when you scroll the Font size dropdown. (the above in Window Vista, NOT tested on XP) Not too much of an issue, but it would be better if it didn't.

Chris, Didn't you accidently enable the outlines (Menu->View->Object Outlines)? Navaldesign, I'm not sure if can do anything about this. It seems to be a problem in the toolkit used to create the toolbars. I will check if there may be a workaround for this.

And no, I do not have object outlines "enabled". I do not have any specific process to detail....I merely used the functions available as best I could! LOL The second part of my mention was the fact I cannot customize the border colors, fonts/sizes, or "backgrounds" of the buttons/textbox etc. like in earlier versions......or am I completely oblivious to the obvious again??? LOL |
